Description of work
The town of Oxford had twin 60″ corrugated metal pipes with structural defects consisting of holes through the pipe invert and open joints. The town did not want to close the road because of high traffic volume, and they wanted to extend the culverts to allow the roadway to be widened.
The town chose to use 54″ HDPE solid-wall polyethylene pipe because it can be direct buried and would allow the roadway to be widened. Construction of a new concrete inlet structure supports the wider roadway surface.
